When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
At least, he’s not a beast all the time.
As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.
Upon reading the blurb the story itself sounds intriguing and quite action packed.
The dynamic between fairies and human will be interesting to see as usually the superior creature is deemed to be scary and malicious.
My only question is why name the main character Feyre when the main species is fairies. Like LOL. (after finishing the series I know her name is pronounced Fay – Ruh but it is an easy mistake to make especially when just glancing.
After reaching halfway, the story is quite slow once it got going. I mean initially it had quite a lot of action with the wolves attacking and Feyre being taken but like after that not much. Feyre at the moment as a main character is a tad annoying with her constantly trying to escape to “save her family” even though its clear that if she goes back they will all die. So like shush, live in the nice house with all the nice food and the hot guy and don’t try and kill your family.
This leads us nicely onto Tamlin, he seems like a chill dude. i can feel the tension growing between the two of them even though he’s all broody and she’s all like “I want to escape, It’s so awlful in this massive house”.
So far I think that this evil will come as described by Lucien who by the way is a great guy. and Feyre will discover some sort of power that only Tamlin can teach her to use. They will grow together and become like some sort of magical super power.
Final Thoughts
Oh wow, oh how I was wrong! This is going to take some time to think over. Out of all the books I have read, I never knew that a story could completely u-turn in like the last 50-100 pages. Like Whattttttt just happened!!!!!! I mean I knew that Rhysand was going to be something when he introduced as cool talking super hot and Feyre was like this is the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. But to be so hot and cold but charming at the same time. Wow #NewFavouiteCharacter!
The actual story was so intense with Tamlin sending Feyre away and her coming back for him like we all knew she would. then the trials and Amarantha. Finally, after the ups and downs as the trials and her nearly dying like five times. Just for her to actually die at the end just to be brought back like wow.
The main thing is that she was actually human and Tamlin has no guts.
